We have partnered with GoodAPI to remove ocean-bound plastic waste. Stopping plastic from within 50km of an ocean-bound waterway or coastline reduces its likelihood of flowing into the ocean. This, in turn, helps to protect marine life, microorganisms, and endangered species from plastic pollution.

Each step in the plastics life cycle, extraction, transport, manufacture and disposal, emits massive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly CO2. Ocean Bound plastic is turned into plastic feedstock, which enables a circular economy and reduces the need for virgin plastic material.

When buying this product, you're funding the collection and recycling of the equivalent of 25 discarded plastic bottles within 50 km of coastlines, rivers or waterways. These areas often lack formal recycling infrastructure, meaning plastic easily flows into the ocean. Your contribution helps intercept that waste before it reaches the sea, protecting marine environments and supporting the communities who gather it.

Through this collaboration, collection members in regions such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Brazil, Egypt, Thailand and Cameroon gather plastic from beaches, riverbanks, neighbourhoods, schools, businesses and community centres. They exchange the material at their local Plastic Bank branches, or through the PlasticBank® app, for additional income and access to social benefits such as grocery vouchers, healthcare coverage, school supplies, digital connectivity and insurance. Every exchange is logged on a blockchain-secured platform, ensuring traceability and transparent reporting.

The plastic collected through your purchase is processed locally and transformed into recycled feedstock that re-enters the global manufacturing supply chain.
